The Energy Agency is a charitable organisation providing free, impartial and expert advice to households, businesses and communities, covering energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transport.

Our aim is to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability locally, thus contributing to national targets.

Energy Agency Renewables Ltd is a not for profit subsidiary company of the Energy Agency that has developed the Nethermills Hydro Scheme on the River Ayr. This is generating green electricity for Ayrshire College, helping to reduce CO2 emissions locally.

Area Based Schemes

Energy Agency is able to offer all households, in a selected geographical community, an energy efficiency solution to their household along with appropriate energy advice.

NHS Research

The Energy Agency, in partnership with NHS (Ayrshire and Arran), South Ayrshire Council, East Ayrshire Council and Dumfries and Galloway Council, is currently conducting an evaluation project to investigate the potential benefits of Solid Wall Insulation (SWI).

The Sustainable Design & Construction CPD Series, run in conjunction with South Ayrshire Council, is now in its 18th year. The programme is designed to bring the latest thinking and practices to a wide range of professionals.
